WELCOME TO PROMISE PLACE!

Promise Place is the name of our Preschool Ministry for ages birth through Kindergarten.

We believe the preschool ages are vital in laying a firm foundation upon which a life of faith can be built. During these years, a child is constantly exploring his environment through experiences. And, we want your child to learn that church is a fun, happy place.

As your child grows & develops, we desire to partner with you to nurture your child’s physical, mental, emotional, & spiritual growth — thus meeting the total needs of your child!

Sunday Mornings

BABIES THROUGH AGE 4: SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES

9:30 & 10:45 AM

Continual hours of teaching are offered in these classes, so parents may attend both Bible Study & Worship Service without needing to check their preschoolers in & out a second time. Each hour will have the same Bible thoughts & story, but the second hour is taught by a second set of teachers with a new look at the same story.

KINDERGARTEN: WORSHIP KID-STYLE

9:30 AM

We’re excited to have a Kindergarten-level worship hour available for our Kinders! This hour is slightly more regimented with singing time, a Bible story time, & learning activities. Not only will our Kindergarteners begin to learn what worship is, but they will also become more prepared to transition into the Children’s Department next year when they enter 1st Grade.

KINDERGARTEN: SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS

10:45 AM

The Kindergarten teachers are excited to help their students learn the life application of the Bible stories they hear. Kindergarteners will participate in age-appropriate activities to reinforce the life thoughts of the day.

Sunday Evenings

Discipleship Class

Childcare for babies through age 3 & learning class for ages 4–5 is offered during discipleship classes on Sunday evenings.

Wednesday Evenings

Awana

The Awana Cubbies program for ages 3–5 is available on Wednesday nights during the school year! And, childcare for babies through age 3 is available for those little ones who aren’t quite old enough to be a Cubbie yet! (Please note, parents/guardians must stay on campus for childcare in case of emergency.)

Trunk or Treat

A safe alternative to traditional trick or treating for parents to bring their children to in our community! This fun kid-friendly event is free to attend & costumes are welcome (kids AND parents)! Will we see you there?

Pre-registration NOT required. The event opens at 6:30 PM and will end either when we run out of candy or at 8 PM (whichever comes first!).

Location: FBC Lakewood (5400 112th St SW, Lakewood WA 98499)

Every Sunday, 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM

We know that the most important spiritual influence in your children's lives is YOU. And, we would love the opportunity to come alongside your family. Imagine the impact if what they are catching at home is being reinforced in the activities, friends, & events your kids participate in at church!

HERE ARE SOME OF THE ACTIVITIES & EVENTS HAPPENING IN OUR CHILDREN'S DEPARTMENT:

Sunday School

Sundays, 9:30 AM

Sunday school classes for kids in Grades 1-6 meet at 9:30 AM on Sunday mornings. Kids will not just learn & build Bible skills, but also be encouraged to live out what they learn every day.

Children's Worship

Sundays, 10:45 AM

Children's Worship is available for kids in Grades 1-5 during the 11 AM service on Sunday mornings (check-in opens at 10:45 AM) & meets in the Multi-Purpose Room/Gym.

Discipleship Classes

Sundays, 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Bible study isn’t just for mom & dad! We want our kids to draw closer to Jesus & build strong foundations for their faith.
