Regathering Safety Guidelines

Let’s Work Together & Stay Healthy

WHAT WE’RE DOING:

At this time, we will have main Sunday worship services only. There will be no on-campus Sunday school or Sunday evening discipleship classes, preschool/children’s ministry activities or Wednesday night youth group activities at this time.

Our sanctuary has been arranged to allow for social distancing between family units/households.

To help prevent the spread of infection, we ask everyone to wear a face mask any time you’re in the building. If you do not have a mask, one will be provided for you. Children under 2 years old will not be required to wear a mask. If you have a health condition that makes it impossible for you to wear a mask, we understand.

Hand sanitizing stations have been placed in the lobby & in opened areas around the building. We encourage their frequent use & ask that parents assist their children at the sanitizing stations.

Common areas & gathering spaces of the building will be closed. That includes the coffee room & any spaces where people might normally congregate.

Before every service, the sanctuary & all high-touch surfaces will be disinfected. We will only allow people in the room after that procedure is complete.

Drinking fountains will not open or usable at this time.

We encourage you to continue giving online. During church services, we will have boxes available for you to drop your offering in as you exit. However, we do encourage you to continue to use our online giving platform if you feel comfortable doing so.

HOW YOU CAN HELP:

If you’re considering joining us in person, please ask yourself the following questions:

  • Am I showing any flu-like symptoms?
  • Have I had a fever of 100.4 or higher in the past 14 days?
  • Have I had prolonged exposure to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19?
  • Is there any medical reason why I believe I shouldn’t be around others?

If you answered “yes” to any of the above questions, you don’t feel well or have health concerns, please stay home & join us for church online or connect via Facebook or YouTube.

Please wash your hands & use hand sanitizer often if you are able to join us in person.

If you need to sneeze or cough, please cover your mouth or sneeze into your elbow.

The Wave is the new handshake! Please refrain from handshakes, hugs & high-fives. Instead, give “air-hugs” & waves!

Please maintain social distancing between your “family unit” & others at church. (We are classifying a “family unit” as any group of people who essentially have been in close contact with one another and either rode in the same vehicle, live in the same house or are together on a regular basis.)

Parking & Building Entrance

PARKING

When you arrive, you will need to wait in your car until approximately fifteen (15) minutes before service. When the sanctuary has been cleared and disinfected, you will be invited to enter.

BUILDING ENTRANCE/EXIT

When you enter the building, you will first need to check in. After checking in, we ask that you go directly into the sanctuary & find your seat. At the end of the service, we ask that you wait for your section to be dismissed, and then exit the building promptly so that we can quickly sanitize the sanctuary & other high-touch surfaces.

What About My Kids?

During this phase of regathering, on-campus Preschool/Children’s ministry activities will not be available. Until these classes/activities resume, feel free to bring your whole family into the worship service. We understand your kids may be noisy – we don’t mind! When your child becomes upset or disruptive, we just ask that you step out into the lobby for a few moments until they are calmed, & then come back in! We’re excited to see you AND your kids in church!

Please feel free to bring crayons, colored pencils, paper/coloring book, your child’s favorite book, or any “quiet toys” they might enjoy using during church.

What About My Teens?

At this time, the FBCL Youth group is not meeting in-person. Friday, July 17 is their first planned Regathering Night. The Youth Leadership is prayerfully considering what additional gatherings will look like in the future. For more information, contact Youth Pastor Dan Spoon at the church office (253.582.1000).

While some of these Regathering Guidelines may seem excessive, we are taking each of these precautions to reduce the risk of spread in an enclosed space as much as possible to protect our church body & our community around us. We expect many of these measures to be temporary and will adjust accordingly as we enter later phases of our plan.
