Awana reaches kids for Christ & teaches them how to know, love & serve Him.

The 2020-2021 Awana club year may look a little different, but the goal is still the same: To reach boys & girls with the Gospel of Christ & train them to serve Him. This year we will have a hybrid in-person/virtual Awana club, & we are excited to be able to meet - whether that's on a screen or in-person!

Wednesdays, 7-8 PM

For the 2020-2021 Awana year, cost per clubber will depend on needed book(s) & requested uniforms on an individual basis:

Book cost:
All clubbers who will be in new books - $15 per book
(Cubbies and T&T participants will be in new books this year; Sparks participants as needed)

Uniform cost:
Cubbies and Sparks uniforms - $15 each
T&T uniforms - $20 each

But what about social distancing...?
Great question! Our Awana Team has spent a lot of time working through the best ways to run the Awana program this school year. Here's a few things to know as we get started this fall:

Awana Club hours will be from 7-8 PM on Wednesdays. We will not do the standard "opening time" or "game time" in the gym at this time. It is too much to have to sanitize & disinfect between groups, & it runs a huge risk of too much hands on. As the Awana year progresses, we will be able to make adjustments as we feel can be done safely.

Zoom & Facetime are options for families who aren't yet comfortable with in-person club. Clubbers will be able to participate in small group times & say verses with their leaders virtually, as well as in person. Additional online resources will be made available for clubbers.

To help prevent the spread of infection, we ask everyone to wear a face mask any time you’re in the building. If you do not have a mask, one will be provided for you. Children under 2 years old will not be required to wear a mask. If you have a health condition that makes it impossible for you to wear a mask, we understand.

Hand sanitizing stations have been placed in the lobby & in opened areas around the building. We encourage their frequent use & ask that parents assist their children at the sanitizing stations.

Drinking fountains will not open or usable at this time.

The Wave is the new handshake! Please refrain from handshakes, hugs & high-fives. Instead, give “air-hugs” & waves!

Each week, before your family comes on a Wednesday night, please consider the following questions for each member of your family:

  • Am I showing any flu-like symptoms?
  • Have I had a fever of 100.4 or higher in the past 14 days?
  • Have I had prolonged exposure to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19?
  • Is there any medical reason why I believe I shouldn’t be around others?

If you answer “yes” to any of the above questions, you don’t feel well or have health concerns, please stay home & join us virtually this time.

Please maintain social distancing between your “family unit” & others at church when entering/exiting the building, checking in/registering, signing in/out your children. (We are classifying a “family unit” as any group of people who essentially have been in close contact with one another and either rode in the same vehicle, live in the same house or are together on a regular basis.)

About our Awana groups...

You might be wondering which group your child would be in. The group your child is in depends on what age/grade they are in this school year. Learn more about each age group below!

For 3 to 5 year olds

Cubbies® celebrates the spiritual potential of preschoolers by helping them develop respect for God, His Son and His Word.

Preschoolers love Cubbies! Whether it’s the fun puppets, the exciting games or all their friends, they simply can hardly wait for their next Cubbies meeting. At Story Time each week, preschoolers learn so much about God! Lessons focus on the greatness of God's love, His Word, and His Son, Jesus Christ, the promised Savior. Non-competitive games build excitement and reinforce Story Time lesson themes.

For Kindergarten through 2nd Grade

Sparks® ignites the curiosity of early elementary-age kids to learn about the people and events of the Bible, building a foundation of wisdom for knowing Christ.

To many children in kindergarten to second grade, Sparks is the highlight of the week! They love their red vests, the exciting games and spending time with leaders and friends.

Sparks is divided into three years, each with a unique rank: HangGlider®, WingRunner® and SkyStormer™. Each year, kids in Sparks:

• Explore the biographies of people of the Bible from a new portion of Scripture
• Memorize Bible verses
• Complete handbook activities

For 3rd through 6th Grade

The T&T (Truth & Training) curriculum teaches kids the truth of God's Word, trains them to follow Him and practice His grace. In this 4 year curriculum series, kids will explore the fundamental doctrines of Christianity including:

• The character and nature of God
• The structure and sequence of the Bible
• The redemption narrative
• Key practices for followers of Jesus

By encouraging kids to engage in highly biblical and highly relational discipleship, T&T helps students to grow and develop as lifelong followers of Jesus Christ.
